About Plain

Plain was founded in 2020 by CEO Simon Rohrbach, an early employee and former director of design at Deliveroo, and CTO Matt Vagni, a developer and designer with experience at Lyst and Deliveroo who went on to help grow online pharmacy company Echo into one of the largest chemists in the UK.

While working at both Deliveroo and Echo, Rohrbach and Vagni experienced the very real problem of trying to improve tooling for their colleagues in customer service. Working in those environments, they recognised that over the last decade businesses had become more complex in how they work, more engineering-centric in how they think, and more demanding in the level of quality and speed they expect from software.

The team is building Plain to be the best support platform for B2B companies. It powers high-touch, company-to-company support on channels like Slack, Microsoft Teams, Discord, chat, and more. By leveraging AI and real-time collaboration, Plain is redefining B2B customer support and success, enabling modern enterprises to build stronger, proactive relationships with their customers.

Companies like Sanity, Laravel, Stytch, and Raycast rely on Plain to streamline support workflows, enhance team collaboration, and automate repetitive tasks. Plain’s AI-powered platform consolidates customer interactions, integrates seamlessly with engineering and success teams, and drives better outcomes for businesses and their customers.

With the latest funding, Plain is expanding its product capabilities, hiring across key functions, and establishing a new office in San Francisco to support its growing customer base in the U.S.
